Based in Detroit, Keith Morris is a former principal who serves as instructional leader with the Detroit Public Schools. His focus is on upholding the quality and integrity of education delivered. Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, Keith Morris trains teaching staff and performs research that spans current academic initiatives and trends, emphasizing areas such as special education compliance.
Mr. Morris previously engaged with David Ellis Academy in Detroit as principal, overseeing faculty members’ efforts to meet mandates at the district, state, and federal levels. He also observed staff and teacher work performance and supervised diverse aspects of learning, from special education to extra-curricular activities.
Keith Morris studied special education at Central State University in Ohio, serving as vice president of the student government. Active with the Council for Exceptional Children, he held responsibilities as president of the Alpha Mu Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity.
Holding a master’s in education administration from the University of Phoenix and a master’s in educational leadership from Oakland University, Mr. Morris is presently working toward a doctorate in educational leadership at the latter school.
