An active participant in the educational profession, Kathy Minardi holds ties with a variety of educational organizations and associations. These include the Association of Independent Maryland Schools, the North American Montessori Teachers Association, the Montessori Administrators Association, and the Netherlands-based Association Montessori Internationale, the oldest Montessori group in the world. In addition to her participation in professional groups, Kathy Minardi has been invited to the New York Times Global Forum and has spoken before her peers at the North American Montessori Teachers Association, where she presented on topics related to whole school management. A thoroughly qualified speaker, she currently works as head of school at Aidan Montessori School in Washington, DC.
In her spare time, Kathy Minardi enjoys pursuing a range of hobbies and pastimes including travel and reading, particularly the work of New York Times columnist Tom Friedman. In addition, she maintains an interest in dogs, specifically the Great Pyrenees breed.
