  • Irish Government - VDI with XenDesktop 7

An initial Laptops & Developers strategy document has been created. Based on this document I have created an high level design to meet my client's requirements.

The solution used is Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 to provision 100-300 virtual machines with MCS as static pooled desktop with personal disk. One of the main challenge was to design an highly available solution with DR capability, not something documented by Citrix. StoreFront 2.6, NetScaler 10, XenServer 6.2, UPM are the main products used to build this virtual infrastructure.

  • I have been working remotely from London (my client was based in Paris) on this project to industrialize, normalize and automate the client's information system. The client’s infrastructure is defined by: AD 2003, Citrix environment, 60 remote sites, 700 workstations and 300 tablets.

My main goal was to build and deploy automatically Windows XP (700 computers) and Windows 7 (300 tablets), reducing cost of installation and maintenance. SCCM 2007 & MDT 2010 & USMT have been used.

The main goal was to deliver an highly automated deployment solution. The main tasks required to achieve this goal were: Create SCCM task sequences to cover the different scenarios including backup and restore with USMT, Develop an engine package in VBS and use it to package 75+ applications, Integrate these application into SCCM, Build the Windows 7 and XP reference image integrating applications, windows update, drivers using SCCM, Integrate the custom image into the manufacturer factory process, Define the user experience and configure the GPOs, Define the Windows update policy and configure WSUS, Wake On Lan and PXE setup, Documentation created and client's team trained.

  • I worked on 14 projects during these 3 years, the longest was 1 year and the shortest was 3 days. Most of the time, I was self -governing and worked directly with the client. I have delivered these projects with different clients like the LFB, L’Oreal, Saint Gobain, Herald Tribune, System U, etc.
  • My longest project was one-year. It was a migration from 2K to XP for 1,000 computers (workstations and laptops). I was the technical lead on this project and planned the migration. I updated our corporate master to the new WinPE version and configure it - it is similar to MDT without any infrastructure required. To backup and restore the data’s user, I developed a tool based on Microsoft USMT and built a user interface in VBS & HTA to improve migration’s reliability and easiness. Using the best deployment approach, myself and a technicians' team deployed with success our master to 1000+ computers. We set up a self-service packages provisioning with SMS 2003 to reduce the support’s team backlog.
  • In this company, our most important solution was the corporate master. An important part of my job was to maintain and integrate this solution to our customers. I have achieved successfully five projects for a total of 100 days about this product.
  • Another project was a migration from Norton v9 to ePolicy Orchestrator v4.0. I planned, designed and implemented the new infrastructure and use a package to migrate the client’s antivirus. I wrote the documentation and trained the support team and administrators on how to use this product.
  • A very interesting project was the migration in 50 days from SMS 2003 / Softricity to SCCM 2007 / App-V 4.x. We accomplished this migration without losing any data and it was totally seamless for the users. I used App-v sequencer to build 5 applications, normalized the packages and established useful reports. We wrote a lot of documentations about exploitation and integration. We trained the support and administrator’s team to be able to manage efficiently this product.

  • I worked at Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations on a project named FAST. It was a dematerialisation platform to transfer some official documents across the web. I trained the council’s customers about how to use the portal web. Our team used Toad to supervise SQL base’s operations to provide the best quality of service. Sometimes we had to solve some problems in customers’ computers. I had to manage inscription’s folder and make digital certificates with PKI to use them with our platform.
