Dr. Joseph Galdun is a respected presence in the Connersville, Indiana community and serves as medical director of hospital medicine with the Fayette Regional Health System. Among Dr. Joseph Galdun's responsibilities is admitting and discharging patients, including those in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Dr. Galdun previously spent 16 years as a night hospitalist with the St. Vincent Medical Group in Indianapolis and covered the institution’s cardiology service. His responsibilities included the admission of patients in areas of care such as cardiac transplant, ICU, and left ventricular assist devices. He also accepted cases from other hospitals, including those requiring emergency air transfers.
Dr. Galdun earned his BA in biology at Washington University in St. Louis, where he undertook research on the sequence of antigenic genes contained in the bacillus Mycobacterium leprae, with the overarching goal being the development of a vaccine for leprosy. He completed his MD at the Indiana University School of Medicine and undertook residency work at the same institution. Dr. Joseph Galdun completed his academic training as chief medicine resident at the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Methodist Hospital from 2000 to 2001.
