An accomplished attorney and consultant, Jonathan Strum brings more than three decades of experience to his position guiding the Law Office of Jonathan D. Strum. In his leadership role with the firm, he counsels clients on complex international trade and finance transactions as well as subjects such as technology transfer, export controls, and joint ventures. He also has experience developing organizational frameworks for start-up businesses and creating strategies for raising venture capital.
Jonathan D. Strum draws upon this experience in several other positions. As a cofounder and vice president with Scheman Strum LLC, he provides guidance to a team working on a transportation project in Peru with financing and goods from China. Additionally, he serves as U.S. counsel for Canada-based Planet Energy, a position he accepted after helping lead an acquisition and spin-off that included complex international transactions. Mr. Strum also serves as a managing director for Prolithic Capital, a boutique firm in the clean tech industry.
Mr. Strum attended Hamilton College for his undergraduate education, during which time he studied abroad at Tel Aviv University. After graduating with a BA in Middle Eastern and Russian studies, he studied for his JD at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and LLM at Georgetown University Law Center. Outside of his legal work, he gives back to the community through his role as a board member for various fundraisers and nonprofit groups.
