For more than 20 years, John Poulos has practiced law with global firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Since 2009, he has held responsibilities as the Managing Partner of the firm’s office in Sacramento, California. John Poulos handles a range of matters on appellate, federal, and state levels. He has also overseen a number of binding arbitrations and participated in numerous successful mediations.
John Poulos earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College. He went on to attain his Juris Doctor at the School of Law of the University of California, Berkeley. He also clerked for three justices of the Supreme Court of Alaska.
Poulos’ law practice has involved representing owners, contractors, material suppliers, and lenders involved in intensive construction and real estate disputes. He also counsels corporate and individual clients on environmental disputes, mechanics’ liens, and state licensure for contractors and designers. Due to his outstanding work, he has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer three times, among his other honors.
