An undergraduate at Texas A&M in College Station, John Patrick Bare is studying urban and regional planning. A member of the College Republicans, John Patrick Bare's community service has earned him recognition as a Distinguished Member of the Aggie Men's Alliance.
Mr. Bare previously studied engineering at Blinn College in Bryan, Texas, where he was active with the National English Honor Society and the Sigma Kappa Delta Honor Society. His background includes a military family, and he grew up in locations ranging from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Katterbach, Germany. As a high school student in Ansbach, Germany, he played football and achieved distinction as homecoming king.
Also while in Ansbach, Mr. Bare was active with the 9th Junior ROTC Battalion and took part in commemorations for the 70th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy. A highlight of the experience was interacting with a World War II veteran, now 92 years old and living in Ansbach, who had landed on Juno Beach as part of the D-Day invasion.
