John Lasseter is an American animator and the current Head of Skydance Animation.

  • John Lasseter joined Skydance Animation in 2019 after decades at Pixar and The Walt Disney Company. In his role at Skydance, Lasseter oversees overall strategy and creative direction.
  • When Disney purchased Pixar in 2006, Lasseter joined the company he first started at as an animator. In a new role Lasseter would help Disney create classics such as Up, Toy Story 3, Inside Out, Car 2, and several more.
  • John Lasseter joined Pixar in 1986 when it was sold to Steve Jobs. Lasseter recieved his first Academy Award in 1988 for his animated short Tin Toy.

    In 1991 Pixar begin creating films for Disney and Lasseter created classics such as Toy Story, A Bugs Life, Cars, Finding Nemo, and many more.
  • After graduating from Cal Arts, John Lasseter joined The Walt Disney Company where he worked as an animator for 1 year. Lasseter worked on projects like The Fox and the Hound, and Mickey's Christmas Carol.
