As a lacrosse coach, John Colombi is tasked with all aspects of running practices and developing game strategies. He is responsible for the continued development of each player, as well as the overall improvement of the team as a unit. Specific lessons range from minimizing the risk of injury during a game to exploiting an opponent’s weaknesses on the field. His work as a lacrosse coach, however, goes beyond elements of technical training and physical conditioning, as John Colombi is also charged with adhering to all program rules and regulations, coordinating travel arrangements and meal plans, and ensuring that student athletes effectively balance schoolwork and athletics.
Prior to launching his coaching career in Castle Rock, John Colombi spent 10 years as a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). He gained invaluable leadership experience in this role and acquired several important skills, including comprehensive CPR and first-aid training.
