Dr. Jeffrey M. Bewley's teaching focuses on dairy systems management, which involves many aspects of milk and dairy production. Jeffrey Bewley brings years of experience in the agricultural field to the classroom, including work as a dairy laboratory assistant, interim herd manager, and dairy technical services manager, as well as his considerable education in animal science and agricultural economics.
Jeffrey Bewley has also developed or assisted in the development of several long-term programs dealing with specific aspects of milk production. The M.I.L.K. Counts program, for example, was created in 2009 and focuses on the reduction of bulk tank somatic cell counts. Until 2015, he also developed and operated the Kentuckiana Dairy Exchange. These programs have significantly improved the quality of dairy products across Kentucky as well as increased farm output.
