MASTER THESIS – Political Science Title: Political Repression and the Islamicization of Politics in Central Asia. This dissertation explored the relationship between political repression and the spread of Islamist political organizations in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, concluding there was a significant link between dictatorial states and militaristic Islamist parties.
