Jason Safir is an interactive new media and performance artist, whose work has been featured on diverse platforms such as the web, television, and cinema. For over a decade he has been developing user interfaces for websites and physical computing platforms, videos and visual designs for major brands that have attracted a wide audiences from around the world including MTV, TRIBE media, College Media Network and established filmmakers and television producers. His interactive design has helped achieve critical exposure on television, online and print news publications, and acclaim in national and international festivals.
Jason was educated in New York and Montreal and has degrees in interactive media and design. He holds a masters degree in interactive media from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a BFA in Computation Arts from Concordia University.
Recruited as a web designer to help assist in the design of web user interfaces and advertisements at mtvU, an important subsidiary of MTV Networks. mtvU broadcasts to more than 750 colleges, with a combined enrollment of more than 7.2 million students. Challenges included designing sites with fresh and vibrant content that suited MTV's target to design better sites that was highly optimized for search engine optimization.
Lead media producer, user experience and design initiatives for Roucous Content’s multi-platform productions and interactive media projects. Responsibilities include video editing, post-production supervision and UI design and development.
Established a strong judicial aesthetic and branding model and produced event videos for the New York Center for Juvenile Justice (NYCJJ), whose mission is to spearhead an effort to transform the way children under 18 years of age are judged and treated in New York courts. The Center was established by Judge Michael A. Corriero, who was a judge for twenty-eight years in the Criminal Courts of the State of New York.
