I have furthermore gained extensive international experience in many regions of the world.
As a Project Management intern my tasks are to develop creative guided selling solutions for our customers and plan projects with them from start to finish.
Company Description
SMARTASSISTANT developed the leading technology for guided selling advice used in e-shops and the POS for brands and service providers.
The company mission is to help shoppers choose products they'll love.
The SMARTASSISTANT solution is based on a behavior and need-oriented paradigm, which takes on the role of a knowledgeable salesperson. Based on the paradox of choice, the company realized that less often is more and helps consumers narrow down their choices in the most user friendly way.
As the Project Director and Head of Corporate Partnerships, I was responsible to deliver the best V4 Conference yet held in the the central and eastern European region of the CEMS Alliance. This was the 7th edition of this annual regional conference, which rotates between the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. Our V4 conference was taking place in Prague between 5th-8th April 2017, in cooperation with the University of Economics and 6 exciting and dedicated local corporate partners (Google, L'Oréal, Unibail Rodamco, PWC, Hilti and Skoda). 100 delegates from 21 Universities of the CEMS Alliance participated in the conference in order to learn more about the topic of 'Behavioral Economics'. In addition to an excellent academic part of the conference (lectures, panel discussion, case study competitions and workshops), we provided many interesting networking opportunities, chances to fall in love with the city of Prague as well as daily entertaining social events. As the Project Director I was managing a main organizing team of 8 diverse and international CEMS students (in physical and virtual subteams) as well as 5 helpers. I was keeping the overview over the extensive project and its budget, making sure all internal and external deadlines are met and keeping all stakeholders satisfied. In addition to that I was also holding the position of Head of Corporate Partnerships, which involved finding engaged partners and sponsors for the conference, setting up partnership contracts with them and keeping up excellent communucation by being the link between the organizing team and the partners.
As a Student Consultant at NGC I could learn a new approach to consulting, by working in a virtual team to help a social organization overcome its business-related problems. NGC offered me insights to a different business mindset through working with a social enterprise and the chance to contribute to the society. My social project is called 'Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y)' and is creating project centers across the Philippines, Vietnam, India and Indonesia to offer an 18-month integration ecosystem for excluded young adults living in extreme poverty. LP4Y volunteers, professional partners, universities and communities are sharing their skills to advance the social and professional integration of excluded youth. The project season opened with a seminar by a McKinsey consultant, who mentored my team for the duration of the project. My workstream focused on expanding the project to new locations in Asia (namely Nepal, Bangladesh and other cities in India), doing research and finding new local partners and sponsors. In return, LP4Y gave our team full access to their organizational mindset, culture and way of doing business, which was a very enriching experience.
This Business Project was designed as a real-life learning experience for CEMS students. In an international student team of 4 we were solving a real business problem L'Oréal Portugal was facing in their hair coloration department. The project accounts for 15 ECTS, which is about 50% of a term workload and project results were evaluated by the academic and corporate advisors. L'Oréal Portugal ended up implementing our recommendations for a 3-year marketing plan into their actual marketing campaigns. This project helped me to gain insight into business life, train analytical and problem-solving skills, apply research methods and transfer theoretical knowledge into practice.
This brand management consulting project facilitated the combining of theory and practice of Marketing, Advertising, Communication and Strategy. In an international team of 5 students we analyzed the current image of AXE among young males in Portugal and suggested improvements for the brand identity and positioning, as well as a marketing and communication plan for the brand. During this semster project Unilever was rebranding the old 'AXE effect' brand to the new 'Find your Magic' AXE brand.
