Education

Postgraduate Certification in Elementary education consisting of graduate courses hosted at Bellver International College in Spain. Courses are offered in a condensed format, over 8-9 days during the summer, in Elementary Education. After completing two summers, an online course, and teaching practicums, certification was granted.

This program focused on the Principles and Practice of the Montessori Method in Practical Life, Sensory Development, Languages Arts, Mathematics, Sciences and Montessori Theory for children two years, eight months to six years of age (NAMC).

Liberal Studies offers a significant alternative to traditional degrees in a single discipline. It draws its rich content from the humanities, arts and sciences, and treats it in a way which brings out the connections between different disciplines. Courses are team taught by professors from a wide range of academic backgrounds, who form with students a community intent on maximizing the learning of all. In participatory seminars students develop skills in communication and critical thinking so prized in graduate school and in the professions of tomorrow (Vancouver Island University website).

This particular coaching institute supports participants to help teachers use the Units of Study in Opinion/Argument, Information, and Narrative Writing. You’ll learn about how to best use and support teachers as they implement the Units of Study. The institute will help you to hone your demonstration teaching. You’ll learn to deliver efficient and engaging minilessons and small group lessons and to research and teach writers in one-on-one conferences. Participants will return home ready to demonstrate for and coach other teachers, support a wide spectrum of teachers, and use powerful methods of staff development to differentiate that support.
