A retired healthcare administrator in the greater Los Angeles area, James Mason served for 19 years as the founding president and chief executive officer of SynerMed. From its headquarters in Monterey Park, California, this healthcare industry IT and business management services provider currently supported around 750 employees. Under James Mason’s leadership, SynerMed has also provided philanthropic support to multiple nonprofit organizations. For example, the company and its employees donated a total over $20,000 toward anti-homelessness initiatives of the St. Francis Center in 2017.
Despite his retirement in 2018, Mr. Mason continues to be passionate about the homeless crisis in Los Angeles and his energies are focused supporting the St. Francis Center as both a benefactor of its food program and as the board president of its homelessness services. He also makes regular financial contributions to the Los Angeles Food Bank as well as to Homeboy Industries, an organization that provides employment training and other services to individuals who were formerly incarcerated and/or involved with gang activity.
