About Me
I'm a physician with broad experience in building clinical practices in anesthesiology and internal medicine. The perspectives I now hold because of that experience have prompted a mid-career change in order to help inform and direct the shifts affecting physicians and patients going forward.

A combined fellowship and residency as a RWJF Clinical Scholar (Stanford/UCSF) gave me broad expertise in non-biological disciplines that directly impact the delivery of healthcare services: systems analysis, health economics, health policy, medical education and usability design. (http://rwjcsp.unc.edu/about/background).

My focus (since 2010) has been on adding value to entrepreneurial teams and projects through experience research & design (physicians and consumers), brand clarification, and innovative practice modeling to optimize health experience and outcomes. I work to create solutions that underscore the congruence between personal and business identity across all domains of healthcare delivery.

As such, I've authored research in user motivation, user experience and digital product design and engaged with colleagues at an unusually deep level. I also believe that designing provider experience underscores the intersection of positive health outcomes and "healthcare process." Optimizing work flow, communication and relationships will innovate new roles and opportunities for product development. And, iterating best support systems for those roles will inevitably deepen user engagement and augment the experience of personalization for all stakeholders. I am passionate about working creatively with organizations and design teams across diverse industries that share this vision.

I care deeply about issues in population health, knowledge-based digital service delivery platforms that stress bottom-line ownership of best health behaviors, and the power of vast data sets to personalize best medical practice standards and improve physician diagnostic accuracy.
