A musician with varied career experiences, Jamar Esaw began working as a model with Moore Creative Talent in 1993 and later worked as a cast member in the Minneapolis production of the Broadway musical Showboat. From 1997 to 2009, Jamar Esaw served as the music director for New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where directed music for all services and managed over 75 individuals within the department.
During his time with New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Jamar Esaw sang in various music groups, including Grammy-nominated Excelsior and James Grear & Nu Friends. In 2006, he founded Jamar Esaw & Triad 4 Christ, a 30-person gospel collective, which has since shared the stage with prominent artists and won six Rhythm of Gospel Awards.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Mr. Esaw worked for three years as a senior financial loan processor with General Electric and six years as a youth counselor with Model Cities. He recently completed a three-year stint as main campus music director for Eastern Star Church, during which time he directed its choir through performances at the Indiana Black Expo Gospel Showcase and the 32nd annual Indiana Scouting Awards. He's a National Honors Society graduate of Augsburg College, where he received a bachelor's degree in business management.
