- Generating five to six pages of content each week including four articles, several photographs, a police report, an "out and about" column, and two event lisitng columns as well as a bi-weekly council report.
- Sole responsibility for all content from the towns of Chase, Sorrento, and surrounding area.
- Find, photograph and report on events and news for publication.
- Attend council meetings, source out information through building relationships within the community, conduct interviews and police reports.
- Opening and closing, facilitating sales transactions, faxing, answering phones, handling customer inquiries and complaints, maintaining office space.
- Work completely independent of the main office.
Company Description
The Salmon Arm Observer is a weekly Salmon Arm newspaper run by the Black Press. The Observer's office also handles the production of the Shuswap Market News - a weekly newspaper with coverage spanning the entire Shuswap region. My area of coverage spanned from Chase to the South Shuswap.
