Throughout his professional life, Isaac Ashley Young has worked to improve the well-being of individuals and neighborhoods in his home state of New Jersey. He currently serves as an employment counselor with the Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center, working within the Parole Employment Placement Program. In this position, Isaac Ashley Young helps persons with disabilities and criminal histories secure long-term employment.
Dr. Young comes to this position following 12 years with the City of Salem, New Jersey, where his work included serving as director of the Neighborhood Preservation and Small Cities programs. In this role, he researched, wrote, and managed all grants for the city.
Additionally, Dr. Young has served the city's youth in roles including public school educator at the middle school. Later, as director of the Salem County Youth Services Commission, he created a complete service plan for young people involved in the juvenile detention system. As director of the county's Mental Health Board, he provided and arranged services for children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional health challenges.
