Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final
decisions on matters of importance
Financial
Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Work directly with the properties CFO to ensure updated and accurate cost of goods sold in the point of sale software
Work directly with the properties financial officer to ensure all finance related administrative paper work is clear and concise
Keep the point of sale software updated and accurate. Ensure that all new products put on sale are properly input and that their respective cost is accurate
Oversee the correct and accurate inputting of items into the point of sale software every time an order is received at 88 Lounge
Ensure that all products received at 88 Lounge have the correct price
Work with accounting to follow up on all unpaid invoices and when necessary, contact clients and ensure payment is made to 88 Lounge
Food safety and planning
Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies and local laws.
Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
Maintain professional Lounge image, including cleanliness, proper uniform and appearance standards.
Estimate food and beverage costs. Work together with accounting
and other heads of department to maintain a steady and consistent cost of goods sold.
Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
Guest Service
Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
Operational Responsibilities
Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service
Personnel
Direct hiring, supervision, development and when necessary termination of employees
Conduct orientation, explain the 88 Lounge philosophy and oversee the training of new employees
Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by overseeing the monthly performance reviews
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of the Lounge staffing needs. Prepare schedules and ensure that the Lounge is staffed for all shifts
Maintain an open line of communication with the human resources department and coordinate and communicate all information
Ensure that the human resources are informed of all decisions staff related and that authorization is given by HR when relating to staff hiring, reprimanding and termination
Community Involvement
Provide a strong presence in the community and at all times reflect a good image of the 88 Lounge
Attend various events in order to promote the 88 Lounge and to network yourself
Events
Oversee and coordinate the negotiation and booking of artists (DJ’s, live bands, singers...)
Work closely with marketing to promote and advertise all future events
Oversee an effective coordination of event details to all internal departments and ensure they are prepared
Oversee the coordination with the graphic department to ensure all promotional material is prepared and if necessary, printed, on time.
Oversee the promoting and advertising of events to ensure a good customer turnout
