Headquartered in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Heidi Scott operates her own tax, estate planning, and real estate law practice and serves as both an attorney and a certified public accountant with Schuyler-Brown Land Title. She laid the foundation for her successful career as an international relations undergraduate at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she competed as a member of the tennis team and served as secretary of the Student Health Advisory Committee. After earning a bachelor of arts in three years with magna cum laude distinction, Heidi Scott matriculated at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Law in Carbondale to obtain a juris doctor. Her accomplishments at SIU include tenures as president of Graduate Student Housing and student editor of the SIU Law Journal.
Before assuming her current professional positions in 2009, she served ten years with the Illinois Department of Revenue in Springfield. She helped the organization create the Innocent Spouse Relief provision found in 35 ILCS 5/502.
