With a background in his field extending 20 years, Hector Mariscal serves as lead conductor for the Metra commuter rail in the Chicagoland area. He is tasked with checking tickets and making sure that passengers are able to reach intended destinations on time. In situations involving poor behavior, Hector Mariscal ensures that passengers are calmed and the situation is defused.
In his work with Metra, Mr. Mariscal draws upon training and continued education that includes passing a yearly examination comprising 250 questions and a background as an assistant foreman. Also active in his larger professional community, he was recently elected as Local 653 Union vice president.
Religion also plays an important role in Mr. Mariscal’s life. He is active in his local Christian community, and as a Parkview Church member he has instructed a number of Bible study groups and sung with the men’s choral group. While attending the McCarrell Christian Academy for high school, he traveled to London and shared the Gospel with people living abroad.
