Harvey Seifter is President of Seifter Associates, a consulting firm that aids clients in creative development, effective branding, and strong leadership. Since 1995, Seifter and his team have used arts-based learning to help clients boost organizational creativity and performance. From Fortune 500 companies to educational institutions and government agencies, Harvey Seifter has collaborated with such respected clients as General Electric, Morgan Stanley, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, and the Smithsonian. Seifter draws on the hands-on experience and specialized skills of artists to help companies in the areas of innovation, teamwork, conflict resolution, leadership development and public speaking, to name just a few.
Harvey Seifter has also been a Senior Fellow at Learning Worlds Institute since 2008, collaborating on projects that expand the role of arts in a global marketplace. In 2010, Seifter received a National Science Foundation grant to convene a series of national conferences exploring arts-based learning theories. Symposia at the Smithsonian, the Illinois Institute of Technology, and the University of California San Diego/CalIT2 all dealt with using arts to spur innovation in science education and the development of a creative 21st Century STEM workforce.
Prior to joining Learning Worlds Institute, Seifter founded Americans for the Arts’ Creativity Connection, a learning initiative using the arts to foster teamwork, creativity, and communication in business. Partnering with acclaimed artists, performers, and writers, Seifter and Creativity Connection developed programs used by corporations such as Blue Cross, Johnson and Johnson and McGraw-Hill.
Seifter’s expertise in the fields of organizational creativity and arts-based learning make him a popular international speaker and lecturer. He has given keynote presentations at the Transatlantic Forum, the Taipei International Arts Festival, the Dutch Performing Arts Congress, the China Global Innovation Conference, and the Baker Institute in Dallas. In 2008, Seifter was named one of 20 “transformational leaders” by the James MacGregor Burns Leadership Institute and the Fetzer Institute.
