Greg Opinski

An industrial technology graduate of Fresno State University, Greg Opinski spent more than 25 years as a project manager, estimator, and founder of his own construction and contracting firm, Greg Opinski Construction (GOCI), in Merced, California. One of the most prominent public works building contractors in Merced, at its peak GOCI had nearly three dozen employees while generating over $35 million in sales each year. GOCI was responsible for hundreds of public works projects over the years, ranging from hospital renovations to new school construction.

Prior to founding GOCI, Mr. Opinski spent many years working for his father’s construction business. Joining the company while still in high school, he developed carpentry skills that allowed him to earn his journeyman’s license while gaining experience working on commercial projects and high-end residential buildings. He also gained a wider familiarity with the construction and contracting fields during this time, going on to join professional groups such as Associated General Contractors.

Currently, Mr. Opinski guides GT Engineering and OP Development, companies that specialize in commercial projects and the renovation of distressed properties. Also an avid aviator, he began flying private planes as a way to travel more quickly between job sites and now enjoys flying as a hobby.
