With over 30 years experience in the optical and ophthalmic industry in both South Africa and the United Kingdom I decided to take time to study & expand my focus on some of my other passions – Image Consulting, Writing, Public Speaking, Personal and Online Image consulting, Public Relations and Online PR & Marketing. I have in that time gained international qualifications and experience in these fields.
An avid Toastmaster, I am currently an experienced & advanced speaker as well as the recipient of the Distinguished Toastmaster Award.
They do say however that the first love is the deepest – and that is Optometry, where I believe I can incorporate my additional skills to great effect.
I have lectured and mentored students of Optometry and Optical Dispensing, as well as lecturing on High Definition makeup at AFDA in Cape Town. I have also attended National and International Trade Fairs and Conferences in both the Aesthetic and Optometric fields.
Computer literate and a Specialist in Social Media Marketing & Virtual Profiling I am familiar with Mac OS, Windows, Optimax, MS Office, Powerpoint & Graphic Design amongst other things.
Event planning and fundraising are other areas of expertise as well as Creative & Speech Writing and creating Multimedia Presentations. I am a Keynote Speaker and Presenter.
I love to travel and hold a British Passport (Full Citizenship) as well as Permanent Residence in South Africa.
I live in Noordhoek, Cape Town & consider myself British by birth - South African by choice!
