About Me
Fritz Gautschi, a retired executive of the ABB Group, a global leader in power generation and automation, distinguished himself as the president and CEO of the corporation's joint venture with ALSTOM in the USA. In this position, Mr. Gautschi oversaw a collaboration between the two companies that incorporated each organization's expertise in the generation, distribution, and transmission of electrical energy. Fritz Gautschi led this joint venture for nearly three years, during which time annual sales reached $3.5 billion.

Fritz Gautschi earlier served ABB in executive and chief executive capacities with several of its divisions in the U.S. and Switzerland. He joined the company backed by experience as a nuclear engineer with the nuclear power division of Westinghouse, for whom he managed the operations of multiple plants in Sweden and later in Spain. A graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology's master's program in engineering, he also pursued advanced study in nuclear energy at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh.

Now retired, Fritz Gautschi dedicates much of his time to learning about the latest discoveries in mathematics and physics. He focuses on innovations in power plant design and, as a result of this study, has remained an advocate for nuclear power in the changing energy climate. Also actively involved in his community, he donates regularly to Paralyzed Veterans of America, as well as Smile Train and the Salvation Army.
