Detailed Description
Project management:
Identify and write the specifications for the mechanical aspects applicable to the Company's products, such as manufacturing, testing, material or weldings specifications.
Identify the specifications necessary for the safe and efficient construction of Company's products.
Advise Technical Project Managers on the mechanical aspects of project design.
Liaise between the project management and the technical disciplines involved in a project.
Liaise with classification societies and other regulatory bodies involved with the safety, integrity and legality of the Company's mechanical components.
Provide formal responses to comments from clients, classification societies or contractors on drawings and specifications.
Technical:
Write or check the calculation reports: description of the calculation method, the boundary conditions, the results and the actions on the design or the dimensioning.
Review, check or approve internal drawings, specifications and documentation related to mechanical design and related matters.
Perform or check finite element analyses (such as static, thermo-mechanical or fatigue) on critical components and confirm that the design and the results are in agreement with international standards from DNV, ASME, BV, NORSOK, Lloyds or ABS.
Fabrication and construction follow-up.
