If you're not familiar with Optimisation, it's all about using Data to make wiser decisions. And this is what I love about this role, you collect, unite and investigate data to deliver impactful recommendations. And if that was not enough, you can then also prove your solution by Experimenting with solutions like Optimize 360, Optimizely, VWO etc..
I've become so fond of this approach and the insights that you get from experimenting that I find it starts impacting my whole life!
I write my emails with simpler words, numerical lists, bullet points, I bold the most important to maximise readability around actions and use the @ to ensure people are referenced. Which - to be honest - I would never have done so methodically before! I now plan and track my personal goals with google spreadsheets, calendar and alerts may it be to ensure I keep burning a few calories every week, or to ensure I don't loose focus on my goals. I am also more cautious to manipulation techniques when it comes to shopping online and offline - once you know the tricks it's easier to say "no" ;)
Since I used to be a front end developer, when I code in my free time I now also ensure my code is as fast to run as possible with some Vanilla.js library and I started assembling a collection of O'Reilly books to grow my knowledge.
And with tools like BigQuery to link all your data sources (online/offline), Machine Learning, Personalisation... Possibilities are endless...!
