Instrumentation & Process Control Engineer

Shell UK Exploration & Production
November 1997 to October 2000
  • Instrument Engineer on new offshore compression platform. Responsible for onshore pre-commissioning and offshore commissioning of all instrumentation and control systems (ESD, DCS, F&G)
  • Designed and commissioned data handoff for offshore fiscal metering system to onshore supervisory system. Designed and commissioned DCS Man Machine Interface incl. control loop functionality (control narratives).
  • Designed tie-in of new F&G system into existing F&G system without shutdown through extensive offshore surveys; avoided 7-days deferment.
  • Design & implementation of brownfield plant modifications including additional line of sight gas detection, improved protective functions
