Currently in his second year at Montclair State University (MSU) in Montclair, New Jersey, Erik Helverson is working toward his bachelor of arts in German as an Anita Magistro Udell Scholarship recipient. Recognized for his achievement in the classroom, he made the MSU dean’s list for the 2018/2019 school year. Outside of his studies, Erik Helverson is an active member of the Delta Phi Alpha National German Honor Society and the official historian of the MSU German Club.
Before coming to New Jersey and enrolling at MSU, Erik Helverson took several years of courses at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and studied abroad for a summer at the Japan Campus of Temple University in Tokyo. He also completed a summer leadership program that gathered participants from around the world to the Czech Republic capital of Prague. Mr. Helverson continues his tradition of overseas learning during fall of 2019 through a foreign study program at the University of Graz in Graz, Austria.
