About Me
A partner at the Los Angeles office of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, corporate lawyer Eric Krautheimer concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions. He represents buyers, sellers, and financial consultants in domestic and international transactions ranging from negotiated purchases and hostile takeovers of public enterprises to leveraged buyouts and joint venture partnerships. Along with writing and negotiating contracts, Eric Krautheimer advises boards of directors on such issues as shareholder activism.

Over the course of his career, Eric Krautheimer has provided representation for numerous companies, among them Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Bucyrus, and John Hancock Financial Services. On behalf of AT&T, he has handled several transactions, including the company’s acquisitions of DirectTV and BellSouth as well as the sale of AT&T Interactive and AT&T Advertising Solutions to a Cerberus Capital affiliate. On March 25, 2011, Mr. Krautheimer received the Dealmaker of the Week honor from The American Lawyer in acknowledgement of his contributions as counsel to AT&T in its attempted acquisition of T-Mobile. He has twice earned listing in the Legal 500 United States, Volume 1, and has achieved distinction as a Southern California Super Lawyers in each of the past seven years.

Eric Krautheimer earned a JD from Western New England College School of Law and an LLM from New York University School of Law. Though residing in Los Angeles, he remains an avid fan of New York-area professional sports teams and holds season tickets to the Giants and Knicks.
