A clinical staff member with New York University (NYU) Langone Health Medical Center’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Cendan treated individuals on both acute care and outpatient bases. She also worked extensively with Rusk’s women’s health and cardiac patients. In addition to providing direct medical care, Dr. Elizabeth Cendan has educated and mentored NYU physical therapy students as a clinical instructor and participated in a comprehensive NYU research study on the effects of cold heat laser therapy on lymphatic obstruction in the wake of breast cancer.
Outside of the professional arena, Dr. Liz Cendan has supported a number of charitable initiatives in areas that range from medical research to childhood education. Her specific volunteer activities have included volunteering at the Garden City Community Church Nursery School in Garden City, Long Island and serving meals at Sacred Heart Parish in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Elizabeth Cendan also has participated in the American Heart Association’s Wall Street Run in New York City.
Evaluated and treated patients in an acute care setting along the neuro-surgical, orthopedic, abdominal and cardiopulmonary tracks - Trained with NYU Langone Chest PT clinical specialist - Developed and implemented treatment protocol for acute care patients - Served as liaison for the development of an acute care cardiopulmonary rehab program -Provided in-services on the efficacy and development of pre-rehabilitation program for THA/TKA
