These pictures were shown in exhibitions in Sandanski and Sofia, Bulgaria, as part of the Balkan Youth Festival (
www.byfestival.eu). "Heat, Thirst, Life": these words told me about Bulgaria, Eastern Europe, the Balkans, where I had lived and travelled. Human warmth I found wherever I went. Thirst for changes, hope even where dispair could have pervaded everything. Life, energy, youth, and will to show the world that Balkans is not just a badly connoted word, but peoples, eager to find a better life, creating, laughing, sharing.
