An expert in viral marketing, Ed Baker co-founded the online Q&A platform Friend.ly and helped it grow to more than 25 million registered users before it was acquired by Facebook. Ed Baker then joined the Facebook team as head of international growth and pushed the platform into a number of emerging markets, including Latin America and Southeast Asia. Subsequently recruited by Uber to serve as vice president of growth, he went on to become vice president of product. When he joined Uber, the company had not yet completed 20 million rides; by the time he left, it was hitting this number every weekend.
Ed Baker is a graduate of Harvard University, where he studied chemistry and physics and served as captain of the varsity track and cross-country team. While at Harvard, he co-founded a dating site that over a quarter of undergrads used. Mr. Baker later achieved his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he co-founded two successful consumer Internet companies.
