An accomplished plastic surgeon, Dr. Toby Meltzer performs gender confirmation surgeries at his private clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Toby Meltzer also stands out as a staff surgeon for two HonorHealth medical centers. Prior to moving to Scottsdale, he served as an assistant professor at Oregon Health Sciences University and as chief of the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Meltzer opened his private practice in 1996. A prominent figure in the transgender community, he has been recognized for his work by the Human Rights Campaign with the Sheila Kloefkorn Individual Equality Award, and he serves as a reviewer for publications such as the Journal of Sexual Medicine and the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
A graduate of the medical school at Louisiana State University, Dr. Meltzer completed residencies in the general and reconstructive surgery units of university medical hospitals in New Orleans and Ann Arbor, respectively.
