Since 2006, Dr. Sridhar Yaratha has worked as a forensic psychiatrist for Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. He also currently holds hospital affiliations there, working as a staff psychiatrist and routinely testifying for civil and forensic commitment court proceedings. Concurrently, he works as an attending psychiatrist at Gateway Homes in Chesterfield, Virginia. Prior to taking on these positions, Dr. Sridhar Yaratha was a psychiatrist for the geriatrics unit at the Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Marion, Virginia, and performed psychiatric work at QTC Medical Management in Virginia Beach.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sridhar Yaratha has published numerous publications and performed research on a variety of syndromes and treatment side effects. In addition, he has directed several lectures and seminars on medical topics. Among these topics are mental health care, schizophrenia, elderly depression, bipolar disorder, and sleep disorders.
Dr. Yaratha held membership with the India Association of Virginia for three years. He also holds a state membership to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Forensic Review Panel. He also is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
