With more than three decades of experience as a physician, Dr. Sammie I. Long holds American Board of Radiology certification in intervention radiology. Maintaining a continuing education emphasis on the aging and dietary issues seniors face, Dr. Sammie I. Long is presently at work on a children's book exploring how we handle grief.
When pursuing her doctor of medicine at Meharry Medical College, Dr. Long undertook a residency at Loma Linda University and completed fellowship work in cardiovascular diagnostic radiology. Her training as a physician extends to interventional and cardiovascular radiology work in Boston at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Dr. Long’s professional background includes serving at the University of South Alabama Medical Center as interventional radiology and angiography director. She has also engaged with the George W. Hubbard Hospital and Howard University Hospital as assistant professor of radiology. In recent years, Dr. Sammie I. Long has stepped up as family leader, as her relatives, many of whom served in the U.S. Armed Forces, reached old age.
