A founding member of the Amonette Circle fundraising group for the Skin Cancer Foundation, Dr. Norman Brooks is a cum laude graduate of the University of Colorado, where he earned a doctor of medicine (MD), as well as the Dr. Aileen Gordon Memorial Award, Lange Medical Publications Award, and the John G. Ryan Award in Medicine. Upon earning his MD, Dr. Norman Brooks completed two years of residency in Internal Medicine and subsequently served two years as a Major in the United States Air Force. Dr. Brooks completed a three-year residency in dermatology at the University of California in 1976, following this he did postgraduate training with a special focus in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatopathology.

Having studied under Dr. Frederic E. Mohs, who created the successful Mohs skin cancer treatment method, Dr. Norman Brooks has spent his years in the medical field perfecting the technique. He has delivered multiple presentations and published numerous journal articles on the Mohs technique and is a certified surgeon by the American College of Mohs Surgery. With over 40 years of research- and surgical-based experience, Dr. Norman Brooks serves as director of the Skin Cancer Medical Center, where he treats patients with skin cancer and surgically treats moles and other skin growths.
