After earning a bachelor of arts in social studies from Morris College, Dr. Mack Hines matriculated at South Carolina State University (SCSU) to obtain a master of arts in teaching. Dr. Hines went on to earn a specialist-in-education degree from Winthrop University while working as a schoolteacher, and a doctorate in education from SCSU while working as a student of educational leadership. Dr. Mack Hines remains active in the world of academia as a tenured associate professor at Sam Houston State University and as a contributor to various scholarly journals.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Hines has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and three books. The majority of this material details his research efforts in the areas of race, children, and education.
Dr. Hines has operated his own consultancy in Prosper, Texas, since 2007. His advisory work chiefly involves the study of school district cultural diversity and inclusion and the implementation of initiatives to improve them, with a particular focus on the education of African American students and ways of raising race consciousness on a district-wide basis.
