Based in Tempe, Arizona, Dr. Lauren Bonner is an ACT Team psychiatrist and offers general mental health services as well as suicide prevention care. Dr. Lauren Bonner previously held responsibilities as a chief medical officer at Arizona State Hospital and was the acting chief of inpatient psychiatry at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix.
Dr. Bonner received her BA in psychology from the University of Illinois and completed an MD at Southern Illinois University in 1995. She subsequently pursued a residency with the University of New Mexico’s department of psychiatry and completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington/Veterans Administration Puget Sound.
Involved in the community, she has contributed efforts as a geriatric psychiatry consultant in nursing home and convalescent center settings. A supporter of children’s education in the developing world, she has visited countries across Southern Africa. She and her US-based group visited schools and community centers and donated educational and hygiene paraphernalia.
