Based in Peachtree City, Georgia, Dr. Kris Sperry is an established forensic pathologist and forensic medicine consultant. He handles a wide range of civil and criminal matters that require expert evaluations that are often presented before courts of law. A prominent presence in his professional community, Dr. Kris Sperry is a fellow of the National Association of Medical Examiners and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
Dr. Sperry’s areas of particular knowledge include terminal ballistics and the interpretation of gunshot wound injuries, as well as maternal death investigations. He has extensive experience in childhood injury and child abuse cases, and was founder and supervisor of the Child Abuse Investigative Resource Center while serving as State of Georgia chief medical examiner.
Dr. Sperry has presented in numerous public venues, including before the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on “The Investigation of Deaths in Custody, for Special Agents in Charge.” He was an invited speaker at the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ 2018 Winter Seminar and gave the talk “What If The Medical Examiner is Wrong?” A graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Kris Sperry completed his pathology residency at the University of New Mexico.
