In 2015, Derek Weigel received his bachelor of arts from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. While there he took an active role on campus, both as an athlete with the school's football team and as a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. As part of the fraternity's Gettysburg chapter, Derek Weigel completed more than 100 volunteer hours for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and other outreach organizations.
Mr. Weigel has also coached youth lacrosse and youth football, having played both sports at the varsity level in high school. He received All League and All Conference honors in his junior year as well as his senior, at which time he also became an All County athlete in football.
Both in high school and at Gettysburg College, Derek Weigel balanced his athletic, academic, and service responsibilities with preprofessional employment. He has developed high level customer service and communication skills, having served in public-facing positions with ShopRite of Hillsdale and the Valleybrook and Rockleigh golf clubs. In addition, he has demonstrated a keen systems acumen as a developer of inventory and cash tracking systems for his employers.
Mr. Weigel now serves as a financial representative and entrepreneur with World Financial Group in White Plains, New York. He comes to his work with an associate of applied sciences in business administration in addition to his bachelor's degree.
