About Me
Officer David Marks has served as a member of law enforcement for more than 15 years. From 2013 to 2018, Officer David Marks held the title of chief of police of the city of Langley, Washington. During this period, he oversaw all daily operations of the police department, including the department armory, evidence department, and department vehicles. His accomplishments in the role include outfitting patrol cars with automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across the department and furnishing all police officers with Nalaxone, a tool for counteracting opioid overdoses. Both measures resulted in saved lives. Additionally, he served as a founding member of the Island County Substance Abuse Coalition.

Prior to earning the title of chief of police, Officer Marks worked as a police officer for the city of Langley from 2006 to 2013. As part of his responsibilities in the position, he participated in the Island County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team. As a result of his efforts, he received the Mayor's Excellence Award twice. He also brings experience as a corrections officer at the Washington State Department of Corrections. There, his responsibilities included keeping order through rule enforcement, searches, and supervision.
