About Me
A former professor at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, David Dessler specializes in the subjects of international relations and foreign policy. Possessing almost 30 years of teaching experience in the college’s Department of Government, David Dessler earned full tenure and was elected president of the Faculty Assembly.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Mr. Dessler earned a Ph.D. in international studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. Prior to Johns Hopkins, he attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where he earned dual degrees in history and physics.

Frequently recognized with awards during his time at William and Mary, David Dessler received the college’s prestigious Thomas Jefferson Teaching Award, which honors young faculty members who make positive contributions to students and the community at large. He also was rated in the Princeton Review as one of the top 300 professors in the country.
