In March of 2017, Dr. David Belk accepted a position as Interim Associate Pastor at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas. In this role, Dr. David Belk maintains responsibilities such as overseeing and meeting with ministerial staff, providing training to teaching staff, and presiding over Bible studies and outreach activities. He also counsels church members and, at the request of the pastor, preaches to the congregation.

Dr. David Belk brings to his role more than 20 years of pastoral experience at churches throughout Texas and Georgia. He served for nearly six years as senior pastor at Haltom Road Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Over his tenure at the nearly 1500 member congregation, he forged partnerships with religious institutions in West Africa and oversaw and trained a 4-member staff. He also introduced a number of new ministries, which led to a growth in the church’s attendance.

Concurrent to his responsibilities at Mims, Dr. Belk serves as Assistant Director of Houston-based New Hope Initiative, a faith-based nonprofit that strives to engender sustainable improvements in the world’s poorest communities. As Assistant Director, he draws on his pastoral experience to develop ministries and to provide training to local religious leaders.
