A business graduate of California State University, Northridge, Daniel Urnick balances a management career with a government vendor with his commitment to the community and the pursuit of various hobbies. A longtime volunteer in Southern California, he has received honors for volunteering more than 100 hours per year at the West Valley Animal Shelter, as well as the Silver Age Award for spending more than 50 hours per year volunteering at senior living centers. Additionally, Daniel Urnick supports animal-welfare nonprofit groups, such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Daniel Urnick also stands out as a nominee for the 2016 Citizen of the Year from the Los Angeles Police Department. He received the nomination after saving the life of a man who was being assaulted by a knife-wielding assailant. Although the victim was stabbed 16 times, Mr. Urnick was able to intervene just in time, with medical experts stating the man would have died had he been stabbed just once more.

In addition to his civic and volunteer efforts, Daniel Urnick pursues a diverse range of hobbies, which include learning about space and following developments in archaeology. An avid golfer, he has played famous courses around the world, including Pebble Beach in California and Royal County Down in Northern Ireland.
