  • The Koniambo Nickel project, a joint-venture partnership between Xstrata Nickel and Société Minière du Sud Pacifique (SMSP), is a greenfield pyrometallurgical facility in New Caledonia designed to develop one of the world’s largest and highest-grade nickel laterite deposits.
    The project process ore in a 60,000-tonne-per-annum ferronickel smelter. The smelter will use a standard pyrometallurgical process and a new technology to confine dust.
    Because of the scale of the project and its remote location,the metallurgical plant was constructed in 15 separate modules in Qingdao, China then shipped to site. The modules, which weigh up to 3,500 tonnes each and can be more than 50 metres tall, arrived in New Caledonia between October and December 2010.
    Hatch, in joint venture with Technip, in an integrated Owner’s team is constructing a metallurgical plant; a 350-megawatt coal-fired power station; an ore preparation plant; an 11.5-kilometre ore conveyor; a port; and a construction camp for more than 4,800 people.

    PVC plant will use the cutting-edge European technologies (BAT – Best Available Techniques) that assure the necessary range of PVC with low process costs, and will comply with the most rigorous environmental requirements of the Russian Federation. The plant will produce 300 kilotons of PVC- suspension, 30 kilotons of PVC- emulsion and 235 kilotons of caustic soda. If the current growth rates of PVC consumption across the CIS territory persist, the project’s working capacity is supposed to be extended on the basis of «RusVinyl» LLC

  • The Project comprises some 1.400 km of 1,067mm diameter X70 pipeline extending from Beineu-Bozoi and from Bozoi-Shymkent.

    The 1st Phase plans a throughput of 6 bcma – the Bozoi-Shymkent section being planned for completion in 2013. The main facilities of Phase 1 are as follows:
    • Pipeline from Bozoi to Shymkent including all PSR stations in-between and branch line / take off connection for local supply
    • Compressor station CS1 at Bozoi, including Repair - Maintenance – Area (RMA), shift camp and metering station to interconnect to Bukhara – Urals
    • Pig Receiver and Metering station in CS2 / Kereit, Tie-in connection to Kazakhstan – China Gas Pipeline (AGP)
    • Pipeline between CS2 / Kereit and Akbulak / Samsonovka, including pig launcher and receiver
    • Gas Metering Station (GMS) and RMA in Akbulak
    SCADA & Telecom for Stage-1, including station control system for CS1
    The 2nd Phase, planned for completion in 2015, will complete the Beineu-Bozoi section and will add the one compressor station to achieve a throughput of 10 bcma. The main facilities of Phase 2 are as follows:

  • Block 10 in East Shabwa, was awarded in 1987 under a PSA to a joint venture, with Total E&P Yemen (TEPY) as operator.

    This was the beginning of a success story, which materialized in the discovery of oil in several fields (Kharir, Atuf, Jathma, Wadi Tariba) in the Biyad, Saar, and Basement formations. The story is continuing with the materialization of significant reserves in the Basement of Kharir, which have been aggressively developed since 2003.

    Production has started end of 1998. The cumulative production of the Block has passed the milestones of 50 Mb and 100 Mb respectively end 2003 and early 2008. Production is now around 60,000 bopd.

    An intensive activity, in terms of drilling and development projects, along with the use of innovative technologies, are being implemented to meet this target. In parallel, the Yemeni workforce of TEPY has increased significantly, to over 300 employees. Aggressive training programs have been put in place to bring this workforce rapidly to excellent performance.

  • The Caspian Pipeline Consortium is a consortium and a pipeline to transport Caspian oil from Tengiz field to the Novorossiysk Marine Terminal on Russia's Black Sea coast. It is also a major export route for oil from the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields.
    The diameter of the 1,510 kilometers long oil pipeline varies between 1,016 millimetres (40.0 in) and 1,067 millimetres (42.0 in). There are five pumping stations. The marine terminal includes two single point moorings and the tank farm consists of four steel storage tanks of 100,000 cubic meters each. Pipeline throughflow started at 350,000 barrels per day (56,000 m3/d) and supposed to be increased up to 700,000 barrels per day (110,000 m3/d)..

  • The barge N'Kossa, located 60 km off Pointe-Noire - Congo's economic capital, is the largest offshore floating production of hydrocarbons in the world.
