A National Merit Scholarship alumnus of North Central High School in Indianapolis, Dan Klausner subsequently earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University, where he was Sigma Alpha Mu Scholar of the Year in 1983 and an Arthur R. Metz Scholar for four consecutive years. He began his career as a senior vice president of Thomson McKinnon Securities, and after a decade with the firm, began working in the same capacity with Prudential Securities. In this capacity, Dan Klausner was the lead partner in a multi-million dollar production group and served as a member of the firm's Chairman's Council from 1996 to 2001.

From 2001 to 2005, Dan Klausner served as senior vice president with UBS. After retiring from his Wall Street career in 2005, he founded the Carmel, Indiana-based Silver Birch Companies, through which he identifies investment opportunities in real estate and business. To date, he has funded, acquired, and developed in excess of 1 million square feet of real estate and companies like Maaguzi and Government Payment Services.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Klausner is a co-founder of the Chung Do Kwan Foundation and originator of the Daisy Baker Zaft Children's Library Fund. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and attending golf tournaments in support of his wife's relative, PGA Tour player Adam Schenk.
