With more than a decade of leadership experience in the US Army, Col Reese Turner recently served as the Operations Support Division Chief, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, for the Army's Human Resource Command at Fort Knox, KY. He led 80 direct reports, responsible for the talent management and career development of over 90,000 Soldiers. His past experience includes leadership positions at Fort Sill in Oklahoma as Executive Director (Deputy Commander). In this role from 2004 to 2006, Col Reese Turner oversaw a short-notice Iraq deployment and helped troops overcome transitions and challenges.

Col Turner subsequently was assigned to Fort Bragg, NC where he assumed the role as Chief Executive Officer (Battalion Commander) of an agile and world-wide deployable Army Artillery unit and was responsible for the training, health, and welfare 530 Soldiers and their families. He set in place a rigorous sub-unit combat training plan that supported Special Operations Forces for over two years in Afghanistan. Because of his leadership, he and his unit exceeded expectations of the Special Operations leadership, accomplished every mission, and ensured no lives were lost.

From 2013 to 2014, Col Turner was based at the US Embassy in Baghdad and led the Department of State’s Army Team. He also served as senior advisor and worked with the US Ambassador and Iraqi Ministry of Defense on the acquisition of ground maneuver equipment. These purchases had an aim of rebuilding the country’s sovereign defense and battling ISIS.

Col Reese Turner also supports nonprofits in the Louisville, Kentucky, community. Among these are Metro United Way, and Boys and Girls Haven.
