A highly talented athlete and dedicated student, Cliff Kigar recently started his sophomore year at Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, where his older brother recently graduated, as well. Kigar developed his love for lacrosse, as well as several of his skills and techniques, by playing with his older brother and his brothers’ teammates.
When Cliff Kigar started his education as a high school student, he started running as a member of the school's cross-country team. He played the attack position for Olentangy varsity lacrosse as a freshman and ultimately started for that team. His most recent season was as an attackman on the Haymakers elite summer travel team. At Olentangy High, where Cliff Kigar takes mostly honors and advanced classes, he is most interested in math and science. Even with the coursework that comes with tough classes like honors algebra and honors physics, he achieved a GPA of 3.85 during his first year of high school. This came as no surprise, as Kigar’s scholastic aptitude has routinely surpassed the average standard of performance. When he was still in middle school, Kigar received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. He was also an honors student at Shanahan Middle School and took part in the Midwest (academic) Talent Search.
One of the guiding factors in Cliff Kigar’s life, and a stepping-stone to his success in school, is his devotion to his educational and spiritual endeavors. He belongs to a local Young Life group, which is a non-denominational Christian chapter of adolescents who frequently meet together. Kigar, who attributes some of his athletic prowess to his sizable strength and stature, is active in the Young Life Campaigners bible study group, as well.
